Star Wars Battlefront may lack "depth," EA exec admits

Does he think kids are stupid? I and my siblings grew up on complex strategy games; Civilization, Zoo/Rollercoaster tycoon, Supreme Commander, Sid Meier's Railroads. Every kid these days has played the heck out of Minecraft, which is a vastly more complex game than any shooter! It's common knowledge that there are far too many 8 year-olds in CoD!

EA battlefront is what happens when a bunch of wrinkly old executives who have never touched a joystick in their crusty, greed-filled, joyless lives are allowed to design a game.

It never pays to underestimate the intelligence of your customers, no matter their age. Even if people don't understand the deep intricacies of a game they can still enjoy it, and eventually may learn to master it and feel the better for the depth such complexity provides. The fact is that dumbing a game down to try and cater to a different demographic only results in a bad game for everyone; young and old, harcore and casual alike.

EA Battlefront is a corpse. They've put some very pretty paint on it, but that can't disguise the fact that it is still a corpse. A corpse that they are trying to sell to you for $120.
